I have always had veterinary medicine in my heart. Although life did not allow me to fulfil this dream, now that I am a Practice Manager for the Muskoka Animal Hospital, I am living out my last working years in an environment very dear to me.
Our team spends so much time together that I like to think of us as a family. I approach my work with empathy and strive to create a space that blends friendly professionalism with gold standard care so the team looking after your beloved pets can be at their very best for you.
I grew up on a 100 acre farm with my parents and four siblings, surrounded by a wide variety of animals. We raised our own meat and vegetables, shared one bathroom with an outhouse as backup, and I received my first horse, a six month old Leopard Appaloosa, as a Christmas gift when I was ten.
At home now, my animal companions include StanLee, my four year old Airedale Terrier, Elle, my six year old Savannah cat, Layla, my sweet sixteen year old mixed breed pup, and Wall E, my green eyed tiger cat.
After celebrating 36 years of marriage, raising two wonderful daughters who are now both married, and becoming a proud grandmother of three, I have learned to handle almost anything that comes my way. My 23 years as a Professional Manager at the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry gave me the opportunity to complete high level management training, including an Excellence in Leadership certificate, which I now bring to the veterinary world I have always loved.
