When is a dog considered to be overweight?
We measure body condition scale (BCS) between 1 to 5. 3 would be your pet’s ideal weight and 5 would be obese. If your pet is above 3, your veterinarian can help you work towards their ideal weight.
Are some breeds prone to obesity?
No breed of dog is prone to obesity. However, some dogs are prone to eating a lot more and are therefore more susceptible to weight gain and obesity.
